Yoga in the Lesson Plan
YogaKids International Program Coordinator Amy Haysman, CYKT was recently interviewed by the NBC Nightly News. This feature piece entitled “Yoga in the Lesson Plan” aired on Sunday, June 3, 2007. This segment portrayed some of the benefits of yoga in the classrooms, as well discussed how stressed children and parents are finding ways to reduce tension and improve their powers of concentration through yoga. NBC’s Bob Faw visited several classrooms at Fernbank Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia and Coral Gables Elementary School in Coral Gables, Florida that have successfully woven the YogaKids Tools for Schools program into their daily curriculums. Cheryl Crawford, YKT, CYKF trained the teachers at Fernbank and Valerie DeWitt, YKT, CYKF trained the teachers at Coral Gables.
